Dr. Dwarakanath has spent nearly five decades at the intersection of science, clinical application and institutional research. As a scientist and faculty member at NIMHANS, INMAS (DRDO), Sri Ramachandra University, and the Shanghai Proton and Heavy Ion Centre, he has consistently pursued research that does not stay theoretical. His pioneering work in mechanism-based approaches to radiation countermeasures and the development of 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) as an adjuvant cancer therapy has shaped oncology practice across institutions worldwide.
At the IA-IICC, Dr. Dwarakanath brings that same orientation: research that is rigorous in method and purposeful in outcome. He is also a Visiting Professor at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai. He serves on the editorial boards of seven international journals, all while remaining an active academic reviewer for nearly 100 scholarly publications in biomedical sciences.

Dr. Venkatesh understands something that many researchers don’t: a discovery that never reaches the market has not yet fulfilled its purpose. Over 20 years, he has built a career around closing the distance between laboratory innovation and commercial reality. He has guided projects through proof-of-concept, prototyping, regulatory validation, scale-up, manufacturing and commercialisation. His work spans medical diagnostics, food safety, environmental biotechnology and agricultural science.
His pioneering contributions to nano-optical biosensor technology and assay kit development represent exactly the kind of applied science the IA-IICC champions: technically exacting and commercially purposeful. At IICC, he brings this dual fluency to every project he leads.
